Fresh outta the kiln:

I know divorce isn't always pleasant or easy. Mine was a rough one, but we made it out the other side and are civil and nice to each other.
My sister's ex, however is being so nasty that I am fuming!! He's moved on, which is great, everyone should be happy....but....he is actually having a YARD SALE of the items that he no longer needs. These are items that were shared during marriage, and divided for the divorce. Yes, they are LEGALLY his, but come on...half of the dishes? a toy box? A reasonable person would offer them to the ex. "You have half of the set of dishes, do you want the rest of the set?"
"Hey, does our DAUGHTER need a toy box?" No. Not this bozo. He is having a yard sale.
I just hope the Karma Gods are watching.

I've been so busy I forgot to post a picture. Here are a few of my first beads. I have lots of practice ahead of me, but I think they're kinda 'funky'. :) 

I melted glass this weekend. It was surreal. I got into such a groove today that I could've sat there for hours. I kept saying..."just one more bead....just one more bead". I made myself quit though, because hubster was leaving for the big city, and I wanted to spend some time with him.
I'm so happy to finally be behind the torch. I'll post pictures soon of my little bead babies.

Rhiannon moved out last weekend. I'm still kinda in shock about it. With Silas living in Freeport, and Rhiannon moved out, I'm having a bit of empty nest crud. I'm sure I'll get use to it and actually love it, it takes some getting use to.

Tonight Rhiannon and Becca invited me to go to see Talladega Nights. It was 'ok'. There were a couple of piss-my-pants funny times, but it was lacking a bit. It was nice to get out though.

Tony FAILED to make the Chase for the Cup, so now I am cheering for Kevin.

Next week we're going to Loudon to watch the boys race. I can't wait to smell the octane and feel the woooosh of the cars going by.

Obviously it's not done, but here is my workstation, oxygen concentrator and kiln. I'll be finishing the walls in the next few days! 

What a great long weekend!! 5 days off! I only work today and tomorrow and then I have until next Monday off, can't complain about that!

We have really done a TON of work on my studio. In fact, by next weekend I'll be melting glass :) I have pictures that I'll post later. I painted one wall yesterday. I love it. The color is called "Florida Gold". It's warm and inviting against the slate floor.

I hope everyone had a great long weekend....the end of summer....here comes fall.
