Today in the vegetable garden we planted 51 pepper plants (red chile, senorita, jalapeno, bell, cubanelle and hungarian wax), 9 tomato plants, 12 cucumber plants, and from seed: green beans, ornamental corn, 4 different kinds of sunflowers and zinnias.

We still have roma tomatoes to plant and a few orphan pepper plants that we always find each year.

My carrots and peas have been up for weeks now.

I'm also planting all my flower gardens but won't bore you with all the different flowers I'm planting. I love this time of year!!

Whatcha planting?

I know I don't usually post about my personal feelings, but I needed an outlet. Kas is in Paris again this week, and when we spoke earlier (it's a 6 hour difference) he was telling me that he needs to go to Budapest before July. He's gone every week, I should get use to it, but it's tough being here alone all the time. His job is huge, so he works at least 12 hours a day. Every day. If I say anything or complain it stresses him out, so that's why I'm blogging. And on a really selfish note, my studio is NEVER going to get finished at this rate. There is NO way he has time to do the things I need done. I know I'm going to end up hiring someone to do it for me, but I don't even know how to explain what it is I need done. *sigh*

He tells me it WILL get better, that eventually he won't have to work as much, but I just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I know I should be thankful, and I really am, I'm very very thankful. I have a wonderful life-partner, I have many opportunities that many people don't have, I have great kids and great family. I don't have a high stress job because Kas is such a good provider and he wants me to stay home to take care of things that need taking care of.

I guess I'm realizing how short life is, and I don't want to piss it away waiting for him to stop working. I don't know where the balance is, or how to find it.

And most importantly, I don't want to whine to him about all of this when he's working his ass off, carting his suitcase from airport to airport. He tells me the traveling is very tiring, eating in restaurants every night, sleeping in hotels every night is wearing him out. He doesn't get to 'sight see', Paris is really nothing, because he's going from airport to hotel to office. I believe him. Sometimes I want to try his life for a bit, but I know he's right.

The only redeeming factor is that I ask him every week if he still loves his job and he says he does. He says it's the hardest thing he's ever done, but he loves it. As long as he's happy, there's some consolation.

Ok, time to put my big girl panties back on and keep on keeping on. Thanks for reading.

This is being delivered on Thursday

I can't quite believe I've lived here for 8 years and every year we've cut 4 acres with a push mower. It's a time eater!! We're thinking this will cut the time in half!! Yay!!

Oh, and it has a cup holder :)

At the risk of jinxing this whole situation, I must tell you that this morning is glorious. I almost forgot what the sun looked like. It's suppose to rain on and off for the next few days, but I'm enjoying the sun while it's here.

BOOOOOO

We lucky folks in New Hampshire are getting quite a beating from Mother Nature. My driveway is close to washing out. The streams and ponds are overflowing. It looks like there's no end in sight.

My friend Kathy's driveway washed out. People in the southern part of the state have it worse though, they have to evacuate, and watch as all their belongings get ruined.

Someone do a reverse rain-dance.

I really, truly hate ticks. But alas, I live in the middle of the woods and share this land with many deer, so what do I expect, right? I've found a couple crawling up my leg already this year. Luckily I've found them before they became 'attached' to me.
What is the purpose of a tick anyway? I don't see any useful purpose other than maybe feeding a bird.
I hate giving Jethro the twice daily 'check'. And what's worse than checking is FINDING. We have a 'tick jar' here at Chez Chupa. Yup. It's a little plastic jar filled with rubbing alcohol. Find a tick, put it in the jar. So entertaining!! We had the tick jar so full it was like a biology class to see the different shapes and sizes that ticks get to be. This year I emptied the tick jar, like a fresh start. Happy tick season all!!

We got this bench for our perrenial garden. Once things green up and then bloom it'll look a bit more inviting. Posted by Picasa
