Can someone tell me the utter super duper importance of launching the space shuttle? Don't we have bigger priorities on the PLANET?

Are you saying you think it is a waste of tax dollars? Now, our country would never waste tax dollars, would they? Nah, no way! Just can't imagine that happening. ;-)
